In all of these subjects a second dose of bisacodyl was administered and HAPCs were identified in 3/6 subjects after the second dose. All children with post-bisacodyl HAPCs felt either an urge to defecate (10/16) or abdominal pain/cramping (6/16). In 15/16 children with bisacodyl induced HAPCs defecation occurred. Of the three children in whom no HAPCs were observed, two reported a sensation of urge and defecation occurred in both children despite a lack of HAPCs. In addition to the HAPCs, we identified 16 propagating contractile sequences in seven children that did not fulfil the predetermined criteria for HAPCs, but were highly similar to the HAPCs. While all had pressure waves >70mmHg (15/16 had a peak amplitude >75mmHg), they all propagated over a distance <15 cm. However, it is worth noting that 14 of these event either initiated at the most proximal sensor or ended at the most distal sensor. Therefore all of these may have either originated at a more proximal location or terminated at a more distal location and therefore it is possible that these events would
