274 Chapter 13 In conclusion, transanal irrigation with Peristeen® is likely to be a valuable tool in the management of children with intractable FC and renders high parental satisfaction rates. It should therefore always be considered as a treatment modality for children with intractable FC before proceeding to more invasive, surgical management.
