About the author 271 A About the author Tamara van Donge was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 1992. After finishing secondary school at the Koninklijk Atheneum in Schilde, Belgium she studied Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences at Leiden University in 2011. During a one-year internship at the clinical research organization the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) she acquired pharmacometrics modeling techniques from Dr. Jasper Stevens and Dr. Michiel van Esdonk. During a subsequent research internship at the University Children`s Hospital Basel, Switzerland in 2016, Tamara developed a particular interest in the impact of pharmacometrics approaches to optimize neonatal pharmacotherapy, under the supervision of Dr. Aline Fuchs, Dr. Julia Bielicki and Prof. Dr. Marc Pfister. After graduating cum laude as a MSc in 2017, Tamara started a joint PhD program at the University Children`s Hospital Basel and Hoffmann-La Roche, under mentorship of Prof. Dr. John van den Anker and Prof. Dr. Marc Pfister. During the PhD Program, Tamara has had the opportunity to conduct a pediatric clinical study at the University Children’s Hospital Basel, and completed a 6-month industry internship at Hoffman-La Roche working on model-informed pediatric dosing recommendations for alectinib. Also, she was part of the PharMetrX program, a graduate program in Berlin, Germany, which is led by Prof. Dr. Charlotte Kloft and Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Huisinga. Tamara is the recipient of the 2018 Pfizer Research Award in Pediatrics for her research into gentamicin dosing regimen for neonates. In 2019, Tamara received the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology (BJCP) Award for Young Researchers for her study on simplifying and methadone-dosing schemes for preterm neonates. Tamara will continue working in the field of clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics as a postdoctoral researcher at Hoffmann-La Roche, in Basel, Switzerland
