The concept of ‘reciprocity in the therapeutic relationship’ is crucial in this regard. We believe that both the client and the therapist bring their own uniqueness in a therapeutic relationship. We conclude this summary with Peter Molenaar’s statement (2004), expressing a wish for psychology research: “A manifesto on psychology as idiographic science: Bringing the person back into scientific psychology, this time forever.” We would like to translate this into a wish for care: “A manifesto for care: Let us bring relational work back into therapy, from now on and forever.” A
