Chapter 4 120 Figure 4 . 6 Synthesizing my reaction to the data through creative expression In the next phase of the analysis process the messages, feelings, associations and other sensory perceptions associated with the creative expression were articulated or ‘put intowords’, as can also be seen in Figure 4 . 6 . In doing so I identified patterns in this particular section of the data: convergences, incongruences and divergences. Noting similarities, differences, unresolved questions and patterns across different sections, writing as I went, I resolved issues by recourse to the data. Figure 4 . 7 shows clusters of ideas drawn from different sections of the data – the different coloured cards correspond to particular sections of the data – being grouped together.
