Moral reasoning explained by personality traits 65 3 RESULTS This study had a total response rate of 52.7% (i.e., 155/294 completed all the questionnaires). Table 1 shows an overview of the sociodemographic characteristics stratified by NPs and PAs. Physician assistants (mean age 42.5 years) are statistically significant ( p < .001) younger compared with nurse practitioners (mean age 48.8 years). However, NPs and PAs did not differ in terms of gender ( p = .05), religion ( p = .54) and work setting ( p = .58) Moreover, the prevalence of politically conservative and liberal orientation also did not differ significantly ( p = .14) across both professions.
