Inclusion criteria In this systematic review, studies describing the use a massive allograft combined with vascularized fibula flap for the reconstruction of segmental bone defects were included. Randomized controlled trials, prospective and retro-prospective cohort studies, case-control studies and case-series published between January 1980 and April 2017 were included. The levels of evidence were scored with the use of the method described by the Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine 2011 [31] .
