The blue error bars represent the 95% CI. Re-intervention Re-interventions occurred because of fracture, non-union, infection, recurrence of the tumor, flap failure, deformity, and hardware removal. In 16 studies, re-intervention rates were known. Re- intervention rates ranged from 10 to 91.7 percent (Fig. 3). A statistically significant difference was found between each study (p < 0.0001). We included amputations because of an infection and or recurrence of tumor in our calculation of the re-intervention rate for each study.
