These statistically significant prognostic factors of the univariate analysis were used in the multi- variate analysis. BMI was close to statistically significant (HR 0.43; 95% CI 0.18-1.01; p = 0.05), therefore, BMI was added into the multivariate analysis. With weight loss, BMI, HPV status, alcohol units per day, and low SMM entered into the multivariate analysis, the two statistically significant prognostic factors were weight loss of more than 10% prior to diagnosis (HR 3.66; 95%CI 1.66-8.09; p = 0.001) and positive HPV status (HR 0.24; 95%CI 0.07-0.85; p = 0.03). Low SMM showed no statistically significant prognostic value in the multivariate analysis (HR 1.48; 95% CI 0.48-4.58; p = 0.50). Table 3.
