186 ABOUT THE AUTHOR Crystal Smit was born on December 8, 1988, in Willemstad, Curaçao. In 2012 she received her bachelor’s degree in pedagogical sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Following, she started a two-year research master’s at the Behavioral Science Institute of the same university. After completing her research master in Behavioral Science in 2014, she started working on her PhD project embedded in the MyMovez research program, of which this dissertation is the final product. Currently, Crystal is working as a Postdoc researcher and lab manager in the Movez Lab at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. With her research she focuses on how to optimally motivate young people in campaigns to voluntarily adopt positive health behaviors.
