94 CHAPTER 5 CONCLUSIONS Preservation of the neurovascular bundles during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy is associated with an increased risk of ipsilateral positive surgical margins when adjusting for patient and side-specific covariates on multivariate analysis. The increased risk of ipsilateral positive margins should be taken into account when counselling patients who opt for nerve sparing RARP.
