T1w MRI did not show any abnormalities. Macroscopy (E) appeared normal. These areas were biopsied and microscopy (HE stain) shows contraction band necrosis (arrows) (F) and infiltration of granulocytes (arrow) (G) confirming acute myocardial infarction.
