81 FAT procedure to obtain SVF for regenerative purposes CONCLUSION The FAT procedure is an effective method to mechanically dissociate lipoaspirate and to create a FAT-SVF with all the therapeutic components of adipose tissue in about 10% of its original volume during a surgical procedure without hardly any time-loss: it contains a 7.7 times higher number of nucleated cells as compared to non-dissociated lipoaspirate and ASC embedded in an extracellular matrix that also contains a microvasculature structure. Further prospective studies are necessary to assess the therapeutic value of the FAT- SVF as such for e.g. in organ repair, scar revision, osteoarthritis or wound healing. Currently, we are conducting two double blind randomized clinical trials to assess this effect of FAT-SVF on scar formation and skin quality.
