Social Exclusion Index for Health Surveys (SEI-HS) Validated instrument to measure the multidimensional concept of social exclusion. Agency The human capability to influence one’s functioning and the course of events by one’s actions. Personal control The extent to which an individual regards his or her life chances as being under his or her personal control rather than fatalistically ruled. Relative risk (RR) The risk of a certain event (disease, risk factor, etc.) in one group compared to the risk of the same event in another group. Population attributable fraction (PAF) The proportion of the health problem that can be attributed to, or that is associated with, a particular risk factor.
