All predictors of the unvariable model were entered in the multivariable model. Abbrevations: eGFR, estimated glomerular filtration rate; LVEF, left ventricular ejection fraction; OR, odds ratio Figure 2: Univariable and multivariable associations of intolerance due to any percieved side effect to low-dose colchicine. All predictors of the unvariable model were entered in the multivariable model. Abbrevations: eGFR, estimated glomerular filtration rate; LVEF, left ventricular ejection fraction; OR, odds ratio Univariable and multivariable predictors of intolerance due to any perceived side effect Crude associations of intolerance due to any perceived side effects are depicted in Figure 2 . Significantly increased rates of intolerance were seen for female sex and higher age: intolerance among female participants was 10.9% versus 7.3% in male participants (odds ratio, 1.57; 95% confidence interval 1.19 to 2.05, p = 0.001). In participants aged 70 years or older, intolerance was 9.5% as compared to 7.2% in those younger than 70 years (odds ratio, 1.36; 95% confidence interval 1.07 to 1.73, p = 0.011). Obesity was associated with lower odds for intolerance, with 7.2% of obese participants being intolerant versus 10.1% of participants without obesity. Impaired renal function did not lead to statistically significant differences in intolerance (odds ratio, 1.36; 95% confidence interval 0.93 to 1.94, p = 0.096). No association with intolerance to any perceived side effects and left ventricular ejection fraction < 50% was observed (odds ratio, 1.21; 95% confidence interval 0.84 to 1.70, p = 0.290). In a multivariable model, the univariable association of age and intolerance appeared to be explained by other confounding factors. However, female sex (odds ratio, 1.61; 95% confidence interval 1.21 to 2.11, p < 0.01), obesity (odds
