169 Oral dryness and use of dry-mouth interventions significant higher total XI scores are “rinsing of the mouth”, “drinking water”, “eating fruit” and “using mouth gel”, indicating that the patients who use these interventions suffer from more severe overall dry mouth than patients who refrain from them. All other interventions did not show any relation with the XI scores. Table 6 presents the BI-scores of patients who apply frequently used drymouth interventions versus patients who do not use these interventions. Only Sjögren’s patients who rinsed their mouth and/or who drank water had significantly higher BI-scores and thereby more dry-mouth discomfort than patients who refrained from these interventions. For all other interventions, there were no significant differences between patients who use a specific intervention or those who refrain from that intervention. 8
