An unsolved question will be whether the jagged or ragged edges are caused by the knife itself or by the force during cutting. The “jagged” or “ragged” description is at a macroscopic level appealing, like an imaginary cut in a finger, but is at microscopic level taking the broad blade into account only understandable if sheared cutting forces tear clusters apart. 11
