OC, depressive and insomnia symptoms in adult women with and without depression 67 Supplementary Materials 2.B Sensitivity analysis assessing whether the larger group that also included women who reported abnormal cycle lengths showed different results from the original sample. Post-hoc sensitivity analysis of the full sample, including women who reported abnormal cycle lengths, indicated similar results to the original analyses in the sample without women who reported abnormal cycle lengths. OC use was not significantly associated with IDS scores (B=0.20, 95% CI=(-0.66, 1.05), p=0.65), neither with prevalence of MDD diagnoses (OR=1.01, 95% CI=(0.81, 1.30), p=0.86) nor dysthymia (OR=0.70, 95% CI= (0.36, 1.32), p=0.27). Furthermore, analyses in this sample similarly indicated that OC use was not associated with atypical depression symptoms (B=-0.05, 95% CI=(-0.29, 0.38), p=0.78), but it was still associated with a higher WHI-IRS insomnia score (B=0.53, 95% CI=(0.17, 0.88), p=0.004).
