Three out of the 17 participants deviated from personalized advice. These participants all recommended the deposit scheme but instead chose the standard scheme (n=1) or ascending scheme (n=2, Appendix II). Outcomes Overall, abstinence in both the treatment and control groups gradually declined over time (Figure 3). Twelve months after the completion of the smoking cessation program, 41% and 43% of the intervention and control groups, respectively, were continuously abstinent.
