Complications of interest were post-operative bleeding, especially those cases requiring reoperation, seroma formation, infectious complications for which antibiotics were started or adjacent surgeries were required, and implant extrusion. Seroma formation was defined as any clinically detected collection of fluid anywhere along the skin incisions leading to discomfort. The cosmetic appearance of the breast after reconstruction as assessed by the surgeon was evaluated as well. Figure 1.
