One spray in each nostril 3 times a day Description of control group Placebo Outcome measures Improvement of global symptoms, individual symptom scores which included any appropriate measures of nasal obstruction, runny nose, sneezing, itching, eye symptoms (including parent rated symptom scores). Nasal assessment scores of inspiratory peak flow levels. Assessment of allergen sensitivity in either the eye or nose. Measurement of IgE antibodies. Quality of life instruments to measure: performance at school, absenteeism, social behaviour, emotional well-being, social relationships. Adverse effects Effect on outcome measures (nasal / ocular symptoms, concentration, sleep problems, absenteeism from school / work, quality of life) No meta-analysis because of the scarcity and poor quality of the data.
