Reasons for disagreement between students Of the 108 cases discussed in the consensus meeting between students and a resident, 76 were assigned a diagnosis. The reason for initial disagreement of the students was scored by the chair of the consensus meeting and categorized into other interpretation of the diagnostic handbook (31/76), information missed (e.g. culture result)(21/76), and different opinion on relevance of (extra) diagnostic label (e.g. whether a diagnostic label was relevant for this ED presentation versus considered a pre-existing diagnosis) (20/76). Four disagreements were due to procedural errors (e.g. error when filling in or processing the scoring form). 8
