70 Chapter 3 target group. This is the first study to explore the role of behavioral and emotional problems in a personality targeted substance use intervention for adolescents and young adults with a mild intellectual disability. To better understand the interrelations between behavioral and emotional problems and substance use, we recommend that future research assesses the problems that are relevant to the individual. Such a personalized study approach would match the personalized program approach. Acknowledgments This study was supported by Fonds NutsOhra (project 1402-061) for vulnerable population groups in Dutch society. We gratefully acknowledge Tessa Straub and Anniek Klijn Velderman for their assistance with recruitment of the participants and collection of the data.
