3 03 Finally, the higher rate of adverse obstetric outcomes in adenomyosis patients as reported in Chapter 11 should not be ignored. Further research of a prospective nature is warranted to confirm that adenomyosis patients could be seen as ones with high(er) risk pregnancies. If our findings are confirmed, one could argue for women with (suspicion) of adenomyosis qualifying for additional (foetal growth) monitoring during pregnancy for instance, or having an indication for aspirin use. In the Dutch context specifically, women with adenomyosis or endometriosis may also be advised against home births.
